Welcome to the 120th Amesbury Days! What started as a mill town has evolved into a destination for dining, shopping and is in high demand as a place to raise a family. Amesbury Days 2019 has a full schedule of events from Thursday, June 27th, through our Fireworks show at Woodsom Farm on Thursday, July 4th. 120 years of tradition with plenty of new surprises!

Amesbury Days offers something fun for every member of the family: free concerts, Kids Day in the Park, Carriagetown Car Show, Beer and Music Walk and plenty more.

Beginning in 1899 as a one-day festival for employees of Amesbury’s various mills, Amesbury Days 2019 has grown into a 120-year-old multi-day program of events, activities and celebrations drawing people from within and around the city.  Little is known about that first celebration except that it began as a one-day outing at Lake Gardner for the employees of the town’s various mills. However we do know that the Second Annual Outing of the Merchants and Manufacturers of Amesbury was held on August 8th, 1900 and was promoted as “Amesbury Days at Hampton Beach.”  The beaches from Hampton to Salisbury provided backdrops for subsequent Amesbury Days until 1916 when the town’s firefighters proposed a field day at the new town park and the Amesbury Days Association voted to join them. On September 14th, 1916 the festival was moved into town and the town’s new park on Friend Street was officially dedicated.

Now, in 2019, Amesbury Days has grown to a series of events taking place at various locations and venues throughout the city.  So mark your calendar from June 27th through July 4th as we have a ton of fun happening for the whole family. Thanks for stopping by and we look forward to seeing you in Amesbury!

Amesbury Beer and Music Event
Presented By
Amesbury Days Grunge jpeg.jpg

Welcome to the 2021 Amesbury Beer and Music Event presented by iMarc!

We are excited to kick off this years Amesbury Days celebrations with our 3rd annual Beer & Music event on June 25th from 5:30-8:30.

This years events will look a little different as it is important for us to adhere to safety standards and follow state regulations regarding COVID-19.

Please read below to see how we plan to execute this event so we are safe yet still remaining awesome!

- Each ticket is good for up to 6 people!  Rather than selling individual tickets, we have decided to sell a group ticket that is good for up to 6 people (which explains the high price per ticket). Each group will be given a space in the beer garden, spaces will be numbered and assigned at time of purchase. Beer will be delivered to you at regular intervals throughout the evening while you sample and enjoy the music in the comfort of your own in space.

- There are two Beer Garden locations.  Heritage Park in the Lower Millyard and the parking lot of CI Works at 11 Oakland St.  Each location will have a band (TBD), beer and food trucks.  The beer that is served will be the same in both locations. You have the option to purchase your ticket at the location of your choice until sold out.  There are only a total of 40 tickets in each location that will be sold (250 person outdoor max and 6 people per ticket) so purchase immediately if you don’t want to miss out. Worry about finding 5 friends to go with later, trust us won’t have trouble finding them! This event is going to sell out, especially with the 80 ticket limit.

- Safety protocols - You should remain in your ticketed location throughout the event unless ordering food or using the rest room.  Everybody should wear a mask anytime they are out of their ticketed area and keep a 6ft distance from anyone outside their party. Help us make this event safe and fun for everyone.

- Participants are invited to bring their own chairs, blankets as well as a small folding table (side table sized) if you would like.

- All guest must be 21+ to participate in sampling.

- All samples must be consumed within your ticketed area within the barricades.

Sensory Hike at Lake Gardner

Join the Lake Gardner Association for the return of their popular “Sensory Hike” in the green-space of Po Hill on Saturday June 29th.

This "sensory hike" will be in the spirit of the growing movement known as "Forest Bathing", which is essentially taking the time to use your senses to slow down and soak in the nature around you as you explore.  We'll talk about the first inhabitants, the early settlers, and the rich history of our town as we hike, pausing often to notice the sights, smells, sounds and textures around us. Sound in nature can be thought of in three ways…Geophany is the sound of the earth…the wind, the waves, the streams. Biophany is the sounds made by living organisms within a given habitat, and Anthrophany is the sounds made by man…..we’ll do our best to filter out the latter.

At 9 AM, we’ll begin our hike, and start by exploring the lakeside paths that meander along the side of Powow Hill, or Po Hill as it is known locally. This slow-paced, guided hike starts at the beach, goes through the beautiful mixed forest to the scenic summit of Po Hill. This is a hill, so there will be some slopes involved, so hiking shoes are advised.

We'll continue down the largely coniferous northern side of the hill and make our way to the rolling fields of Battis Farm on the northern edge of Amesbury. There will be a single hike which should last about an hour and a half. Please arrive by 8:45. There is no cost for this hike, but donations of non-perishables for Our Neighbor’s Table are welcome.
